Job Role as an Overnight Carer
As an Overnight Carer at Alcester Home Care, your main responsibilities include:
- Monitoring Client Safety: Ensure the client is safe and comfortable throughout the night, responding quickly to any needs or emergencies.
- Assisting with Night-Time Personal Care: Provide support with tasks such as toileting, repositioning, and helping clients get in and out of bed when necessary.
- Offering Reassurance & Companionship: Be a calming presence, offering emotional support to clients who may feel anxious or disoriented during the night.
- Administering Medications: Follow prescribed medication schedules, ensuring clients receive their nighttime medication correctly and on time.
- Maintaining a Clean Environment: Help keep the client’s sleeping area tidy and hygienic, including changing bed linens and cleaning up as needed.
- Recording Care Notes: Keep detailed records of the client’s condition, any disturbances during the night, and actions taken, ensuring clear communication with the daytime care team.
- Responding to Client Needs: Stay alert and responsive, attending to any calls for assistance and ensuring comfort throughout your shift.
