What is Visit on Demand Care?
Visit on Demand is our on-call home care service for clients across Alcester, Warwickshire and Worcestershire, bridging the gap between the NHS and traditional scheduled care. Designed for new and existing Alcester Home Care clients, it supports independent living with rapid, professional help whenever it’s needed, giving clients and families complete peace of mind.
Our Visit on Demand service is available at the push of a button for our clients if they feel unwell or in need of support. The unique ‘trigger’ device is GPS-enabled and features an easy-to-use push-button design and integrated ‘fall detection’ to automatically call for assistance if a fall is detected.

How the GPS Trigger Device Works
When you join our Visit on Demand service, we’ll deliver and set up a small wearable trigger device, typically worn as a pendant or wristband, during the first visit. It’s designed to be simple enough for anyone to use, with no apps, smartphones or technical setup needed.
One button. That’s it. Press the button at any time of day or night, and an alert is sent immediately to our local team, along with your or your loved one’s live GPS location. A carer is dispatched directly to you or them.
Automatic fall detection. The device’s built-in sensors detect sudden impacts and changes in orientation. If you fall and can’t press the button yourself, the device automatically calls for help.
Works anywhere, not just at home. Because the device uses GPS and a mobile signal rather than a landline base unit, it works in the garden, on a walk, at the shops, or visiting family – anywhere within our coverage area.
Long battery life and water-resistant. The device is designed to be worn continuously, including in the shower, with battery life that lasts several days between charges.

What Happens When You Press the Button
- Alert sent instantly. Your GPS location is relayed to our Alcester-based team within seconds.
- A carer is dispatched. Our nearest available carer is sent straight to you.
- You’re contacted en route. Where possible, we’ll call you to talk through what’s happening while help is on the way.
- A familiar face arrives. Because our team covers a specific local area, the carer who arrives will usually be someone you’ve met before.

Who is Visit on Demand For?
Visit on Demand is ideal for people who are mostly independent but want the reassurance of professional help on call.
Typical clients include:
- Older adults living alone who want to stay in their own home with confidence.
- Recently discharged hospital patients during the first weeks at home.
- People recovering from a fall or surgery who do not yet require planned daily care.
- Adults with early-stage dementia whose families want a safety net between visits.
- Family carers who need back-up for times when they can’t be there.
- People with chronic conditions (Parkinson’s, COPD, heart conditions) who are prone to flare-ups.
If you’re not sure whether Visit on Demand is the ideal fit, our team can talk through your situation during a free, no-obligation assessment.
Bridging the Gap Between NHS & Traditional Care
NHS services, although vital for severe illness, can be limiting for less urgent problems, often resulting in a delayed response. Traditional regular care, on the other hand, may not be necessary if you or your loved one is still independent.
Visit on Demand care bridges the gap between the NHS and traditional care; it offers complete peace of mind. On-demand care brings our professional care services quickly and only when they are required, ensuring there is always help when it is needed.
